The coronavirus pandemic has prompted a swift acceleration in the growth rate of e-commerce with an increase in online spending of $82.5 billion, making a percentage of 77 year-over-year. The statistics were revealed in a report released Friday by an Adobe report stating that, such increase could only be possible within four to six years.
“It would have taken between 4 and 6 years to get to the levels that we saw in May if the growth continued at the same levels it was at for the past few years,” said Vivek Pandya, Adobe Digital Insights Manager.
According to him, they didn’t expect such an increase especially outside of the holiday season. He affirmed that, as of November 1 and December 31, 2019, only $ 142.5 billion was realized during the holiday season, which represented 13% year-over-year increase. Download Evolve Newspaper
