Immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) now require foreign students pursuing degree in the United States to leave if their universities switch to online only classes. The announcement was made on July 6th in a press release.
According to ICE, those students currently enrolled in online only courses have the option of leaving the country or transferring to a school with in-person instructions. Failure to do so will lead to deportation as they no longer meet resident requirements.
A move that will affect and frustrate thousands of African students in the US. It will equally act as a treat for those who planned to attain non-academic training programs during their free periods.
